West Coast

Join me on a beautiful journey along the Cape West Coast, a region known for its wide-open landscapes, fascinating history and extraordinary seasonal flowers.

After the winter rains, the quiet landscape bursts into colour. During flower season, especially in August and September, fields of daisies and other wildflowers stretch across the coast, creating one of South Africa’s most spectacular natural displays. The flowers are fleeting, appearing for only a short time each year.

A visit to the !Khwa ttu San Culture and Education Centre offers a meaningful insight into the heritage of the San people. Through storytelling, language, traditional tracking, plant knowledge and a deep relationship with nature, San guides share both their history and their continuing culture.

Depending on the route and season, we can enjoy lunch at a welcoming wine farm before continuing towards Postberg and the West Coast National Park. The park surrounds the beautiful Langebaan Lagoon, with white beaches, turquoise water, salt marshes, wetlands, dunes and low-lying fynbos.

A visit to the charming fishing village of Paternoster completes the experience, with its whitewashed cottages, beautiful beaches, fresh seafood and relaxed West Coast character.
