Join me on an exhilarating journey along the Cape West Coast, a region known for its wide-open landscapes, fascinating history and gorgeous seasonal flowers.

After the winter rains, the gentle West Coast landscape bursts into colour. During flower season, (August - September) fields of daisies and other wildflowers create one of South Africa’s most spectacular natural displays.

A worthwhile stop on the West Coast is a visit to the !Khwa ttu San Culture and Education Centre, which offers meaningful insight into the heritage of the San people. Through storytelling, language, traditional tracking, plant knowledge and a deep relationship with nature, San guides share both their history and their continuing culture.

Depending on the route and season, we can enjoy lunch at a welcoming wine farm before continuing towards Postberg and the West Coast National Park. The park surrounds the beautiful Langebaan Lagoon: white beaches, turquoise water, salt marshes, wetlands, dunes and low-lying fynbos entice visitors to swim, picnic or maybe try kitesurfing.

A visit to the charming fishing village of Paternoster completes the experience, with its whitewashed cottages, beautiful beaches, fresh seafood and relaxed West Coast character.
